I would be able to develop my diligence and perseverance by completing my homeworks on time. PAS is a school whose teachers give out loads of homework, and students can literally bathe in them after school. Completing all my homework on time, not to mention the fact that there are lots of them, I would get used to working hard everyday to complete my homework to my highest standard. Perseverance means to not give up, and in order to get a good grade in a tough class, I shall not give up to the tough work I shall receive in the future. Since I like to get good grades and complete all my work to the highest standard, I have the confidence that I would be able to develop perseverance and diligence.
The difference between math, science, english classes and history class is that the nature of history class is to do big, major projects, such as making posters, tapestries, presentations, and all the way to skits. Creativity and ingenuity are the key traits to do well on projects. Thus, doing many projects, it will train me to become a more creative person by calling creativity into duty. Doing projects also engender group discussion for ideas. During these discussions, original ideas would be fabricated and applied onto our projects.
Zest and enthusiasm are always present in group discussions. These energies are always used for people who want to express their opinions and outlook on specific events, actions. History class involves controversial topics and events that would definitely spark vehement group discussions. It is in these discussions that zest and enthusiasm would be present. Since I am usually an active participant in class activities, I would definitely have a lot of energy during these discussions.
The world has people, and one of the reasons I believe that children go to school is to learn to interact with people. In history class, projects are assigned to groups of students not only for them to exchange ideas, but also for them to learn to cooperate. It is during cooperation, when students share their time and energy together to complete their projects, when the capacity to love and be loved appears. At first, it appears to be team work, but soon adapts into love. It is the type of love when people care for each other, and help each other. When a friend is having a hard time, it is because that you care and love him, that you try to make him feel better. Your friend that cares about you would also do so. Projects enhance friendship and spark new ones. Hence, I believe that I would gain the capacity to love and be loved as I begin to do projects in history class.
Learning is part of life. And we all learn everyday, especially when we are in school. We learn about history in history class. Naturally, I would grow to have the love of learning because I need to study in history class. Listening to lectures, doing online research, or reviewing for tests, I am always learning. Learning would become a natural habit for me and be developed in this class seeing that my favorite subject is history (honestly, it is), and learning about historical events and the reasons behind them are simply interesting for me. Imbibing these knowledge would definitely be pleasant for me.
I can develop PERMA in history class, seeing that I am personally interested in the subject. Thus, it would produce positive emotions for me. Being interested in the subject also means that I would be engaged in the class. Completing the major projects with my group would definitely make me feel accomplished, and it would also give me positive relationships with my group-mates if we cooperate well. These experiences, of completing complex projects, learning to how to cooperate with other people, and simply imbibing interesting knowledge, are definitely meaningful to me and my future.
